December has been a season of reflection for me as we celebrate the coming of Jesus. Christmas reminds us that God did not remain distant, but chose to step into our world in humility and obedience. As I’ve been thinking about that this month, I keep coming back to Acts 1:8, where Jesus tells His disciples, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” That promise has felt especially real during this season of preparation.
One of the ways God has been stretching me recently is through public speaking. Talking about my call to missions and fundraising for the World Race Gap Year hasn’t always felt natural or comfortable, but I’ve seen how faithful God is when I step forward in obedience. Each time I share, I’m reminded that I don’t rely on my own strength or words. The Holy Spirit truly provides peace and confidence in moments where I would normally feel nervous, and that has been such an encouragement to me.
This month, I had the opportunity to share at a ladies tea event, and it was such a sweet example of God’s Spirit at work. I walked into the event feeling anxious, but I left feeling incredibly supported and uplifted. The encouragement, prayers, and kindness from the women there were a real reminder of how God uses community to strengthen and send His people. What could have been overwhelming instead felt joyful, and I know that was only because of Him.
As we celebrate Christmas, I’m reminded that because Jesus came into the world, we are now sent into it, not alone, but empowered by the Holy Spirit and surrounded by the Body of Christ. This season has deepened my gratitude for the way God continues to prepare my heart and confirm this calling.
Thank you so much to everyone who has prayed for me, encouraged me, and partnered with me in this journey. Your support, both spiritually and financially, means more than I can express, and I’m continually reminded that this mission is not something I walk into by myself.
As you pray this month, please continue to pray for boldness and reliance on the Holy Spirit as I share about this trip, for trust in God’s provision as fundraising continues, and for a heart that remains surrendered and attentive to His leading during this season of preparation. I am so grateful for each of you and for the role you play in this journey.
